Oneonta City School District has the following anticipated vacancy: Bus Drivers Minimum qualifications: possession of a valid New York State driver's license, including any required endorsements appropriate to the vehicles operated. Special requirements for acceptance of application: Possession & maintenance of a CDL is required to maintain employment. Candidate will be required to take a physical examination, drug, & alcohol screening in accordance with Federal regulations. Salary Range: $19-$24/hour. We are looking for responsible and safety-conscious School Bus Drivers to transport students to and from school in a timely, reliable manner. Drivers will ensure the safety of all passengers, maintain order on the bus, and follow designated routes and schedules. Responsibilities include conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, adhering to traffic regulations, and reporting any issues or delays to school authorities. Drivers will also assist students in boarding and exiting the bus safely, especially younger or special needs students. The ideal candidate must possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a school bus endorsement, a clean driving record, and strong knowledge of local traffic laws. Patience, punctuality, and a commitment to student safety are essential qualities. Prior experience is preferred but not required.
