POSITION SUMMARY The Service Technician, inspects, diagnoses and repairs power units and trailers. Collaborates with other team members to ensure equipment is safely and efficiently operating to the drivers needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Consulting with the Lead Technician to determine which repairs are covered under warranty
Reading work orders to evaluate the tasks required
Preparing work plans after fully scoping out the issues
Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions
Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts
Troubleshooting, repairing, and verifying accuracy of repair on diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, free rolling axles, brake systems, all electrical systems, suspensions, tires, etc.
Ability to accurately document repairs completed to include troubleshooting steps and parts used on a specific job
Perform preventative maintenance to include but not limited to oil changes, chassis lubes, brake inspections, filter replacements, full DOT inspections, etc. on both powered and non powered assets
Willingness to work as a team to achieve one common goal- driver uptime
Eagerness to learn and complete training to further your maintenance knowledge
Keep a clean professional work area and professional appearance
Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles
Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
High School diploma or GED required.
Successful completion and passing of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Technical certification in vehicle or diesel repair (Preferred)
Class A CDL (Preferred)
Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience
Basic computer skills
Excellent customer service skills and communication skills
The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
