Job Description:


ECS is seeking an Architect to support Linux Server environment, supporting a major DOE National Laboratory. Selected candidate will need to look holistically at customer's environments and expected future projects and architect out a system for the customer.


The client primarily runs RedHat and utilize Ansible for automating tasks. The candidate should be strong in scripting and very comfortable with Python.


The candidate is expected to have a strong Linux experience, responsible to support RedHat Linux servers.

Responsibilities will also include automating tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Ansible. Candidate will be responsible for networking tasks from machine to wall and should be prepared to troubleshoot network and serve issues independently. Work will take place in a highly secured area.

Candidate must reside in the Albuquerque area as work will be performed on site.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

• Deploy and maintain production Linux and Windows operating systems in accordance with established IT policies and guidelines for items such as security, networks and file systems.
• Coordinate and perform installations and upgrades to layered software packages.
• Continually monitor and tune multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
• Work with Enterprise IT Configuration Management automation tools/approaches

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education/Experience BA/BS in CS or other IT related field + 10 Years of relevant work experience
• Must be a US Citizenship
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q security clearance.

Required Skills:

• 
  BS/BA in a relevant STEM field and 10 years of related experience; OR equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  
• Linux Server System Administration & UNIX experience at least 1+ years
• Familiarity with network protocols and network management technologies
• Ability to define systems requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills with customers and vendors
• Automation platforms such as Ansible, VMware, Python at least 1+ years
• Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
• 
  Uncleared, but must have the ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance
  

Desired Skills:

• Windows system administration experience at least 1+ years
• Experience leading and implementing large technical solutions
• RHCE/CCNA
• Experience in Bash, PowerShell, or other scripting language for automating SysAdmin tasks or troubleshooting existing processes
• Experience with container technology, such as Kubernetes, RKE, Docker, etc.
• Virtualization, servers, storage, and networking equipment experience
• ESXI experience
• Experience working on and designing ground system architectures on US Govt Programs
