Job Summary: Principal point of contact and the prime source of technical knowledge for Microsoft enterprise systems support and VmWare support. The candidate will be working with a team supporting a virtualized infrastructure and provide daily technical support and working with the Operations team and architects in developing and implementing systems and services. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: - Acting as the principal point of contact and the prime source of technical knowledge for Microsoft enterprise server support; this includes having an advisory role for new purchases, hands-on technical assistance for end users, installation and maintenance, and upgrading of mid-tier software and licensing. Obtains approval from Manager of Data Center for any variance from approved standards. a. Supports and maintains Microsoft servers. Installation and configuration of new hardware and software to include Microsoft operating system updates, patches, configuration changes and documentation of those systems, based upon established standards and best practices. b. Demonstrating broad knowledge in Microsoft server administration. c. Developing and maintaining network security plans for the Microsoft platform. d. Supports Microsoft-Based systems within and across departments connected to a local area network and the organizations Wide Area Network (WAN); coordinates all hardware and software support services for the Microsoft platform. e. Assists in enterprise resource planning, and coordination throughout WellStar. e. Works on organizational initiatives with various teams coordinating and providing both advice and assistance; operates with minimal supervision in a team environment. f. Installation of ESX Servers, vSphere Client and Vcenter Server g. Create the datastore for storing VMs and data h. Deploy Virtual Machines and use Clones, Snapshots, templates i. Health Check for VMs and ESX host j. Present / Assign LUN to esx host (Actually a storage admin task) - Responsible for the administration of the Microsoft environment to include: a. Compliance Insures compliance with all software copyright and licensing laws and requirements. b. Operations and Maintenance Supports and maintains WellStar Microsoft hardware and software in accordance with an established technology refresh plan insuring that organizational business needs are met. c. Financial Management Assists in maintaining the IT budget in alignment with WellStar budget projections and financial management practices. d. Customer Satisfaction Acts collaboratively in assessing, evaluating and providing IT Microsoft support services within and across organizational business units; insures collaboration within, and across, all departmental boundaries, strengthening existing relationships and alliances, and forming new ones, so that customer needs are met. e. Timeliness Effectively contributes to IT projects, special assignments and overall workload in meeting established deadlines and project milestones; completes projects and tasks on time and within budget; completes all IT projects, assignments, milestones, and regular responsibilities within agreed-upon deadlines to avoid serious slippage of dependent/ contingent projects in order to insure ultimate project success. - Clearly documents system/application support issues and resolutions in the call tracking system for of all assigned support calls. a. Maintains service level agreements and follows up with customers. b. Coordinates the resolution of critical problems and assists in resolution where needed. c. Escalates problems to the proper person/group in a timely manner. d. Properly documents all work orders and problem calls in tracking system. e. Maintains system/applications information/documentation in the centralized tracking system - Provide teaching and mentoring to the System Administrators. a. Work directly with System Administrators to train on an as needed individual basis. b. Coordinate and schedule planned training events with System Administrators. c. Cross train other organizational units. d. Communicate team training needs to Manager of System Administrators. - Responsible for assigned tasks, projects, and deliverables: a. Provide status reports to management team on deliverable items b. Thoroughly document new technologies and processes based on tasks and projects. c. Proactively own projects, tasks, and deliverables - Able to provide in-depth analysis regarding necessary technologies a. Must maintain and possess thorough knowledge of these technologies, but not limited to: Active Directory, DNS, Microsoft Server, FTP, Citrix XenApp, and Vmware. b. Ability to provide detailed root analysis when requested c. Proactively owns and troubleshoots end user issues - Perform Administrative duties a. Attend meetings and effectively communicate with senior management and peers b. Create weekly documentation in time tracking system c. Proactively own and review processes to ensure best practices are being followed Required Minimum Education:
High School Diploma General or Bachelors Computer Science-Preferred or Bachelors Information Systems-Preferred

Additional License(s) and Certification(s): VMWare Certified Advanced Profesional (VCAP) vSphere 5.x or higher Preferred Certified Microsoft MCSE Preferred Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in VmWare Administration Minimum 7 years additional relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree Required Minimum Skills: Broad Functional and technological knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and NT Infrastructure, FTP, network topologies, Windows Clustering, Web Services, Citrix, Terminal Services Printing, RAS (Remote Access Services), VMware Server Virtualization. Build, configure and maintain ESX hosts version 5.x to 6.x Experience with vSphere 5 and vSphere 6 in a datacenter environment in dual active-active datacenter environment Experience with vSphere Update Manager to update ESX hosts and VMTools Experience with vSphere Site Recovery Manager with EMC recoverpoint Experience with VMware Virtual SAN Experience with configuration of vSphere Standard switches and Distributed Switches Experience with vRealize Operations for Datacenter management and Horizon management Experience with scripting in PowerCLI and ESXCLI Experience with vCenter Server Appliance and Windows vCenter implementations Familiarity with vMotion and DRS capabilities Familiarity with VMFS datastores and RDM LUNs and storage provisioning from EMC and NFS solutions Familiarity with VMware Identity Manager product Familiarity with P2V conversion processesFamiliarity with VMware vRealize Automation Understanding of Windows Server 2003-2012 best practices in a virtual environment Experience with HP chassis and blades preferred, Generation 8 and 9 Experience with VMware Horizon View preferred Experienced in implementing security, backups and recovery Handle 24x7 on-call support on rotational basis and willingness to carry a pager Familiarity with industry best practices which includes network, data replication, security, and data exchange. Ability to configure server backups in NetBackup. Very detail-oriented and able to follow standard methodologies for troubleshooting and development. Must be highly professional and able to properly function in an enterprise environment Must possess soft skills necessary to be successful in a high pressure environment
