Position Summary:

Midnight Sun Technologies is looking to hire a Data Center Lead. This position requires support to the hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) solution at the United States Mint Data Center facilities. With the exception of the procurement of hyperconverged infrastructure assets (the server, storage, network, and backup infrastructure at all United States Mint sites), the Data Center Lead shall be responsible for supporting the design, deployment, engineering, operations, and administration of the current and emerging United States Mint Data Center. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Define Data Center Services requirements, process and procedure for all services within scope of this SOW
• Recommend Data Center Services requirements based on industry best practices
• Develop, update, document, and maintain United States Mint Standards and Procedures Manual for all Data Center Services functions
• Analyze the United States Mint environment, including acquiring United States Mint management team feedback, to identify the appropriate sets of skills, training, and experience needed to support all of the services covered in Data Center Services
• Install, operate, maintain, manage, and make engineering recommendations for the Data Center Services equipment needed to support the United States Mint's operational requirements
• Coordinate Service delivery with the Service Desk, as well as other support groups within each of the other Service Areas, in coordination with customers, the United States Mint, and all appropriate third parties, as necessary
• Provide support for special projects managed by 3rd party vendor by coordinating activities for ARB/CAB, validating user acceptance tests, and documentation of the new system for effective maintenance and operation of the new system.
• Maintain and provide audit information, including access
• Provide Security Patching, Vulnerability Management, Continuous host-level security monitoring and Continuous infrastructure-level security monitoring
• Perform annual Disaster Recovery Exercise
• Manage application and database, including security and upgrades
• Monitor and optimize bandwidth and network, ensure capacity exists and is immediately provided to support spikes in traffic
• Provide user Access and Account Configuration on the managed hosts and applications
• Provide vLAN Network Configuration
• Provide secure VPN connection for Admin Access
• Manage VM/Storage Provisioning/Cloning
• Setup/Configuration of Site-to-Site Virtual Private Network (VPN) Tunnel between United States Mint and Cloud DMZ (including analysis, design, implementation, and checkout of the connectivity-one time. Note: This MUST be compliant with the current TIC Reference Model and Department of the Treasury TIC requirements.
• Firewall Configuration for VPN Access,
• Load Balancer Setup for Active- Active configuration -one time
• Network/DNS/Domain Setup for External Website -one time.
  • Department of the Treasury TIC will maintain DNS hosting for Mint name space.
• Maintain performance benchmarking
• Support security audit for Infrastructure and web application
• Provide and update the Infrastructure System Security Plan (SSP)
• Provide network infrastructure As Built diagram and update

Minimum Requirements:

• 15 years of relevant field experience.
• Bachelor's degree Info Systems/Relevant Field - Preferred.
• ITIL 4+ Foundation Certification and MCA Microsoft Azure Admin - prior to onboarding.
• Practical skills, experience and training leading the design, configuration, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, of data center hardware and software.
