About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Information Security Engineer. This person will be part of the Quantum Security Team within cybersecurity. They will lead and drive execution of the organization's quantum security technology strategy, determine its target state, and effectively drive and guide the engineering efforts required to achieve that target state.

In this role, you will:
  • Consult with multiple engineering and business teams on quantum security technology engineering strategy, determine gaps, identify blockers, and recognize opportunities to achieve that target state - Quantum security technology includes post quantum cryptography (PQC), public key infrastructure (PKI), quantum key distribution (QKD), other key management methods, cloud cryptography, database encryption, and other security measures.
  • Be a thought leader for the company's cryptographic technology present and future, helping to ensure the effectively protection of information and assets.
  • Identify emerging/new products and technologies required to support new business request (requiring new features) or to fill gaps with current deployed network technologies.
  • Research and document testing procedures, execute testing processes, and write test result papers for internal and external publication.
  • Develop and maintain product strategy documentation.
  • Provide technology presentations to senior leadership and technology peers.
  • Research, develop, and participate in proof of technology experimentation and demonstrations within Wells Fargo labs and with external vendors.
  • Design and develop security testing scenarios, using combination of manual and automated techniques.
  • Knowledge of a variety of programming languages and strong capacity for debugging applications.
  • Validates and refines high level architectural and engineering designs.
  • Defines design elements, Statements of Work (SOW) and helps develop project plans and business cases for new technologies.
  • Communicate completed development steps and action items.
  • Consults with technical groups, users and/or vendors to identify and influence functional specifications, roadmaps, and business/technical requirements.
  • Partner with architecture, engineering, and support groups such as Secure Network Services, Security and Network Architecture teams, and others to ensure technology alignment with overall strategic direction for Wells Fargo.
  • Provide guidance across many teams to drive new technology and advancements into production.
  • Act as an advisor to leadership and senior engineers to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups.
  • Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions.
  • Provide vision, direction, and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices, new technologies, and recommend innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage for the organization.
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of advanced engineering experience with encryption technologies.
  • 3+ years of advanced engineering Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) experience.
  • 3+ years of advanced information security architecture, design, and consulting experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with quantum security technologies, including post quantum cryptography (PQC), quantum key distribution (QKD), other key management methods, cloud cryptography, database encryption, and other security measures.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of advanced Linux experience.
  • 3+ years of advanced experience with Windows server operating systems.
  • 3+ years of experience leading and executing complex technology transformational programs across an enterprise.
  • 3+ years of scripting and automation experience.
  • 3+ years of cloud computing experience.
  • 3+ years of advanced experience with security technology product evaluation, proof of concepts and testing.
  • Experience with GitHub, Ansible automation and orchestration (or similar tools including Chef or Puppet), Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
  • Demonstrated ability to document procedures for other engineers to follow.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with information security and risk management including policy and standards, information security assessment, security best practices, and mitigation solution design and implementation.
  • Ability to research, design, implement, and test industry best practices.
  • Ability to define business and technology requirements and align to technology direction.
  • Ability to translate complex technical needs into straightforward requests for information and collaboration, working with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to train and lead others.
  • Ability to present technical concepts to senior leaders.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, ISSAP, CCSP, CISM.
  • Industry standards experience such as IETF, IEEE, OASIS, ASC X9, NIST.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Extensive technical writing skills and presentation skills.
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
