Job Description:

The Event Specialist will be responsible for planning, implementation, and reporting of marketing events, such as conferences, trade shows, seminars, account events, virtual events and other customer-related events. This position requires a high degree of collaboration with various internal and external groups by creating and adhering to project plans and schedules and managing all event logistics from conception to execution. The Event Specialist handles multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining consistent attention to detail and ensuring high quality event execution. Innovative thinking, problem solving, and continuous improvement with an open and collaborative communication style are critical to this role. The ideal candidate will be someone with a track record of running successful events, works well both individually and as part of a team, and is highly motivated and results-driven to meet business needs while keeping customer needs in mind.

Your role:

  • Own integrated project management for all event types with limited supervision. Responsibilities include but are not limited to pre-event consultation and planning (including ownership of event planning documentation), venue selection, determination of event flow and program formats, printing and shipping coordination, budget management, staffing coordination, various on-site event duties when needed and reporting.

  • Provide leadership and demonstrate strong communication skills as part of virtual, global cross functional team

  • Working closely with other global marketing communication groups to ensure promotional plan and graphic design supports the event objectives

  • Advise on development and maintenance of event plans and objectives

  • Serve as trusted advisor on new tactics or on course corrections to be implemented

  • Use appropriate event technology tools and best practices

  • Measure event effectiveness through metrics management and knowledgeable assessment

  • Build and maintain relationships with marketing teams both internal and external to event marketing

  • Act as steward to ensure compliance with NI's corporate brand throughout events
  • About you:

  • Demonstrates understanding of and works effectively within a global organizational model, and drives alignment to the global campaign strategy

  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to facilitate communication, build consensus among team members, and make decisions confidently

  • Ability to handle multiple and complex projects simultaneously under stringent timeframes and changing priorities and conditions

  • Ability to create well thought-out project plans and lead cross-functional teams

  • Creative and innovative approach to work with attention to detail

  • Ability to evaluate event data and make strategic recommendations using event reporting tools

  • Credibility to command respect and lead project stakeholders and contributors at all levels

  • Skilled negotiator with proven experience finding creative ways to do more with less, and a track record of staying on budget.

  • Excellent technical knowledge and understanding of products and solutions and how an event strategy could be applied to affect customer outcomes.

  • Ability to function with little to no supervision, driving projects, reporting results, making recommendations for strategic change

  • Work confidently on virtual teams and with remote teams

  • Willing to travel (~30%)
