Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure the machine is ready for lapping, including that the table is clean, and the waste is drained to a container.
• Fill the cleaning tank with soap and water and Properly load parts into lapping.
• Unload lapped parts into a basket and proceed to clean them.
• Dry the parts.
• Visually inspect and accommodate the acceptable parts into plastic trays.
• Separate the parts needing re-lapping and the ones to be scrapped.
• Pack the trays into carton boxes, seal them, label them and proceed with palletizing.
• Document the production, scrap, and relevant information for the next shift.
• Clean and organize the workstations.
• Notify the team lead, supervisor, or technical staff on machine issues or defective parts.
• Must know and follow all plant, department, and job safety rules and procedures. Stop the machine or operation if unsure of the safety or quality of the task or the process.
• Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements necessary for this skill or job area.
• Follow standard quality procedures as provided.
• Visually inspect parts for defects. They must be free from obvious visual defects, including but not limited to: Short fills, broken, bubbles, flashes, scratches, spots, and others.
• Willing to perform additional duties as assigned, such as work in other departments as needed.

Specific Training, Knowledge, Skills Required:

• Fluency in English
• Basic math skills able to read, write, add, and subtract whole numbers.
• Requires excellent mobility and the use of proper lifting techniques to avoid injury.
• Legible penmanship.
• Good Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred previous knowledge of Lapping operations.
• Safety conscious
• 5S and Lean Principles, a plus
