Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech



Location: Everett, WA



Contract: 3 months + Possible Contract extensions



Shift: Variable evening shift 12pm- 8:30am or 2pm -10:30pm (no weekends)



Description:
The Sterile Processing Tech functions as an integral member of the team and is responsible for performing technical tasks that support clinical operations. The focus of this position is the decontamination and reprocessing of instrument sets and reusable sterile supplies.


The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for and not limited to:
• Receives and processes instrumentation, supplies, and equipment from the operating room, departments, clinics, and outside customers in a timely manner.
• Cleaning and decontamination of instruments, scopes, equipment, and disposal of biohazard. Utilizing proper PPE, tech will disassemble, inspect, and decontaminate via manual, ultrasonic and automated process following IFU's.
• Performs sterilization, and high-level disinfection of instruments, scopes and equipment via steam autoclaves, low temp and liquid chemical.
• Performs and records required daily quality checks and tests on the sterile processing environment, instrumentation, and equipment.
• Document's sterilization, HLD and tasks via electronic records, SPM or paper charting.
• Follows standards for handling instrumentation and equipment including AAMI standards and manufacturers instruction for use.
• Maintains assigned work areas and equipment to follow AAMI standards and IFU's
• Assists in orientation of new employees to each work assignment area and
total department operation.


Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing/pulling) lift 24lbs to max of 50lbs on a regular basis.
• Ability to communicate, read, write, speak and understand fluent English.
• Preferred Sterile processing Certification HSPA


Experience: Preferred one year experience in an acute care setting.



We do not have a sterile processing tech - process instruments for operating room and clinics req so we are using this until one can be added to FG

Responsibilities: decon, assembly, sterilizers, flex scopes, clinic peel packs. - This is all standard sterile processing work. NO robotics, knowing cataracts, Steris 1E liquid processing is a bonus.
