Summary:
The Instructional Design Manager leads the Instructional Design Team. Develops engaging and effective high-quality learning solutions to enhance employee performance and organizational growth; collaborates with subject matter experts and stakeholders to analyze learning needs, design curriculum, and create innovative learning materials.
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with external vendors or consultants for specialized training projects and works with technical staff to troubleshoot problems reported by users.Conducts needs assessments and evaluates the impact of learning interventions on employee performance or other pre-identified evaluative metrics/ROIs. Analyzes, updates, and refines existing content based on feedback, evaluation results, and industry trends and utilizes evaluation data to make continuous improvements on learning experiences.Creates and maintains a standardized data analytics process (i.e., data collection, etc.). Supports and partners with Organizational Development (OD) Team on data collection efforts. Helps identify the business data needed to produce the most useful insights and future analytics. Utilizes data to make actionable recommendations.Works closely with the Organizational Development Team to ensure alignment of training initiatives with organizational objectives.Manages the Instructional Design Team. Accurately scopes projects to launch programs and courses within an agreed upon time frame.Provides guidance and support to trainers and facilitators on effective instructional techniques and delivery methods.Collaborates with subject matter experts, project managers, and other stakeholders to conduct needs analysis, define learning objectives, create storyboards, and develop instructional materials using sound instructional design principles and best practices.Researches and recommends emerging educational technologies as they become available.Applies adult learning theory, instructional design models, and user-centered design principles to design and develop various types of learning solutions, such as e-learning modules, instructor led training, videos, simulations, microlearning, job aids, and assessments. Utilizes authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, Rise 360, etc.

Complexity of Work: Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360 (Rise & Storyline), learning management systems, and multimedia editing software. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, priorities, and projects simultaneously to ensure budgets, schedules and performance criteria are met. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills. Demonstrated competence with various learning modalities and technologies, such as e-learning, instructor-led training, webinars, videos, podcasts, simulations, games, etc. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality learning solutions that meet organizational needs. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.Proficiency with LMS platforms (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, Cornerstone, etc.). Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or other editing software. Knowledge of Fair Use/Copyright laws. Required Work Experience: Five (5) years of proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and adult learning principles. Three (3) years' leadership experience. Other Information: Additional Education Information: Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred).Additional Information: Certification in instructional design or related field is a plus and Articulate 360 certification preferred.
