The OSP Inspector is responsible for overseeing the placement and safety of outside plant (OSP) components, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies, and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders involved in OSP construction projects.
Responsibilities and Duties
Uphold safety standards and comply with OSHA regulations and company policies.
Document field conditions for new sites and site modifications through site visits.
Coordinate with contractors for restoration efforts.
Conduct site or pole surveys using OSP field equipment to gather utility pole line information.
Collaborate with local municipalities for permit acquisition and attend meetings as required.
Prepare project documentation and maps, and assist in the research and acquisition of permits and right-of-way documentation.
Develop working relationships and communicate effectively with management, project managers, foremen, and co-workers to resolve problems and achieve company goals.
Serve as a technical resource for field support, customers, sales, and operations, assisting in addressing and resolving questions and problems.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum of 3 years' experience in OSP construction environment or equivalent.
Preferred experience as an Outside Plant Field technician.
Ability to identify and document the placement of OSP components.
Computer skills for completing "Production Report".
Verifiable locating experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Earth.
Knowledge of municipality and railroad guidelines and requirements.
Understanding of OSP construction safety requirements.
