For over 30 years CITC has been enhancing TV and movie productions and live events with artificial snow, fog, haze, bubbles, confetti, and foam. Our equipment and proprietary fluids and expendables have been used to create unique cinematography for major motion pictures, bring excitement to stadium concert and professional sporting events, enhance photography shoots for fashion catalogues, and add magic to amusement and theme park attractions. BirdBuffer® solves the public health and safety challenges surrounding critical facilities caused by pest birds. Our solution is innovative, unique and patented. It is the most effective, safe and humane approach to preventing damage and disease caused by unwanted birds. We serve markets including Energy & Utility Infrastructure, Food Production Facilities, Industrial and Commercial Buildings and Aviation & Transportation Facilities.

The Technical Product Manager will be responsible for owning the end-to-end experience for both our CITC and BirdBuffer customers. This includes but is not limited to creating and maintaining the product roadmap, understanding the competitive landscape, understanding the market, evaluating and sourcing product designs, and delivering any new products and product improvements. This is a highly technical role, where this individual will be expected to understand both the customer workflows but also nuances on the products and technologies. This individual is expected to be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) of the products and technologies in the portfolio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Delivers a technical product portfolio through day-to-day collaboration and decision making with cross-functional teams.
  • Pursuing and curating new ideas, including prototyping and experimentation.
  • Builds and improves network of external engineering and product firms to accelerate delivery of new products.
  • Understands the specifications and validation methods used in generating those specifications.
  • Owns the development of appropriate test methods, data, and techniques for product verification, validation, and performance testing.
  • Uses voice of customer to ensure innovation solves problems that need to be solved.
  • Maintains pulse on market, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Partners with supply chain and operations teams to deliver quality improvements, value engineering, and design for manufacturing improvements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Will be responsible for budgeting and managing external engineering agencies and individuals.

Minimum Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Three or more years experience in product development engineering and/or product management, or similar, at a technology company.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, detail management, and attention to quality.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to balance creative vision with practical feasibility.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience in product management, preferably within the entertainment or visual effects industry is a plus.
  • Lighting and Special Effects Industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including experience in finding root cause and preventative measures.
  • Technical domain skills in analog electronics, motors, fluid dynamics, and/or material properties a plus.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • This is a full-time, on-site position. Successful candidate is available to work at our Mukilteo, WA location.
  • The successful candidate in this position will work in both an office and lab environment, with support on the factory floor as necessary.
  • Must be able to travel >25% of the time.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
