Water Operator I

The Village of Hebron, Ohio is seeking a full-time Water Operator 1 for the Hebron Water Department. A Class 1 Water Supply Operator certificate is required at the time of hire. Additional certification such as Class 1 Wastewater license is not required, but desirable.

Pay range is between $20.96 to $26.20, depending on licensing, experience and qualifications, Applications and job description are available at the Municipal Complex, 934 W. Main Street.

General Description:
This is a full-time position that works under the direction of the Water Superintendent in the daily operation, maintenance, and quality services at the water treatment plant. The incumbent will assist the Water Superintendent by providing daily technical support, assistance of the drinking water system operations to maintain safe, continuous and regulatory compliance.

Required certifications:
The Ohio Environment Protection Agency Class 1 Water Supply Operator Certification

The Ohio Environment Protection Agency water laboratory wet chemistry full certification for Alkalinity, stability-Alkalinity, Harness, Chlorine, Fluoride and PH standardization.

Ohio motor vehicle operator’s license and satisfactory driving record that meets the underwriting guidelines for the Village’s insurer.

Typical duties:
· Monitor treatment processes; calibrate chemical feed requirements; process control sampling and laboratory testing; adjust chemical dosages/feed rates.

· Maintain daily logbook entries and daily duties, documents maintenance, record all laboratory testing and test results, record laboratory chain of custody sheet.

· Conduct routine sampling and monitor independently.

· Montor meter readings for all treatment related flows.

· Inspect water plant and distribution system for needed maintenance/repairs and provide recommendations to the Superintendent.

· Complete assigned customer service work orders from Utility Billing Coordinator.

· Locate main valves, water lines and service valves as requested through Ohio “811”.

· Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and replace automated and chemical fed equipment.

Candidates must have a minimum of one year experience in the water treatment field and knowledge of equipment, instruments and materials in the water plant and laboratory.
