Pourline Operator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:


  • Follow all general safety regulations and use provided safety equipment as required.
  • Understand ISO 9001 requirements.
  • After training, participate as a member of the chemical emergency response team.
  • Maintain TDI gas monitor at head of round block and flat block lines.
  • Assemble mix heads for all lines: round, flat, and CO2.
  • Set up machinery in preparation of production runs.
  • Start up and shut down machine properly.
  • Properly secure TDI, water, and or tin injectors into mix head.
  • Operate: main pour/purge switch, conveyor, fall plates, mixer, and fence on round and flat lines.
  • Monitor production variables and ensure the variables fall within an acceptable range.
  • Monitor cream line and foam for any defects and react accordingly.
  • Remove and properly clean TDI, water, and or tin injectors.
  • Clean mix head after end of run and remove mix head at the end of the week for proper cleaning.
  • Prepare nozzles for round and wing pours.
  • Prepare sieve package for CO2.
  • Properly clean sieves after CO2 pour.
  • This position may be required to work weekend overtime.
  • Keep area neat, organized and clean as well as follow 5S principles as they are appropriate.
  • Cross train in other positions as required.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed by the employee's supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents and training materials such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills are required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard work hours will consist of eight hours per day, five days per week on an assigned shift.

Schedule hours may be altered as required by business conditions. This may be more (or less) than eight hours per day or five days per week. An ability to work overtime or irregular hours to include Saturdays, Sundays and holidays is essential for this position.

EQUIPMENT USED:

Ability to operate tow motor(s), hand truck(s), hoist(s), and the ability use various hand tools.
