What You'll Do:

As a Store Supervisor (SS), you'll play a key role in managing the activities of a Jackson Hewitt office or kiosk within an assigned district. Working under general supervision and in alignment with established company policies, you'll oversee staffing, productivity, tax preparation, and marketing efforts. Your position will involve handling sensitive and highly confidential information, and you'll regularly address diverse matters requiring a solid understanding of our business operations.

Key responsibilities include:


  • Supervising one or more seasonal hourly staff members at a single location or kiosk.
  • Communicating with the Manager about the status of recruiting, interviewing, and hiring seasonal employees for assigned locations.
  • Maximizing customer service and driving sales growth.
  • Performing various administrative functions to support office operations.
  • Developing, reviewing, approving, and managing work schedules and hours worked.
  • Monitoring associate performance to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, and taking corrective action when needed.
  • Reviewing productivity, discount, AAG, and other reports to identify and act on areas of improvement.
  • Maintaining a well-organized filing system for tax returns and related documentation.
  • Printing client checks each morning and ensuring timely distribution of refund checks.
  • Following up with clients who have void/hold tax returns to encourage them to return and complete their filing.

Skills You'll Bring for Success:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent business experience.
  • Coursework in management, tax preparation, and/or accounting is preferred.
  • Previous experience in tax preparation and possession of a PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number) is a plus.
  • At least one year of management or supervisory experience is desired.
  • Proficiency with various computer software applications, including email, internet browsers, Word, Excel, and accounting or tax preparation software.
