Corporate Controller

What this role is:
At Thrive, we're looking for a Corporate Controller who will be the go-to person for managing our financial operations. You'll lead our accounting and treasury teams, ensuring we have solid financial data to help make smart business decisions. This role is about more than just crunching numbers-it's about guiding people, improving processes, and supporting our overall business goals. You'll work closely with our CFO and Brand Presidents, providing valuable insights that help shape the future of the company.

What You'll Be Doing:
Lead and Grow the Team: You'll be responsible for a talented team, helping them set and achieve goals, offering guidance, and developing their skill sets and capabilities to meet current and future needs and opportunities. Your leadership will ensure everything in our accounting and financial operations runs and scales smoothly.

Manage the Money: You'll oversee all aspects of our financial operations, from reporting and budgeting to cash flow management, ensuring we're making the most of our resources.

Oversee Treasury Operations: You'll handle all things treasury- related, including managing cash flow projections, AP disbursements, bank balances, and short-term investments. Your goal is to make the best use of our financial assets and maintain great relationships with our vendors.

Ensure Accurate Reporting: You'll lead the period-end closing process, making sure all our financial reports are accurate and delivered on time. This includes everything from profit and loss statements to balance sheets and cash flow reports.

Keep Things in Check: You'll develop and implement internal controls to protect our assets and ensure our financial data is spot on. This includes managing everything from cash handling to expense reporting and accounts payable.

Provide Financial Insights: By examining the numbers, you'll help spot trends, risks, and opportunities and make recommendations that support smart business decisions.

Improve Processes: You'll continuously look for ways to make our financial processes more efficient, accurate, and productive. This includes everything from the closing cycle to vendor services.

Collaborate with Others: You'll work closely with our leadership team, department heads, and external partners, providing financial expertise to support our goals. Building strong relationships with vendors will be a key part of your role.

Stay Compliant: You'll ensure we meet all regulatory and legal requirements, manage audits, and ensure all tax filings are accurate and timely.


What We're Looking For

Education G Experience: You should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance and a CPA is required. We're looking for someone with 10+ years of accounting experience, including 4+ years in a controller role.

Leadership Skills: You've got experience leading and developing teams, and you know how to create a collaborative, results-driven environment.

Financial Expertise: You're well-versed in accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, with a track record of improving processes.

Industry Experience: Experience in the hospitality industry and working with complex business setups is a big advantage.

Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with financial systems, especially Microsoft Business Central, is a big plus.

What Will Make You Stand Out:
Experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry.

Experience with multi-brand, multi-entity businesses.

Experience in a high-growth environment, whether through opening new locations or acquisitions.

Background in Treasury, Tax, Audit, Process Improvement, Technology, Finance, and financial modeling.

3+ years in public accounting.
