Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, Business Development to join our team. This pivotal role will be instrumental in driving strategic alliances and partnerships, as well as identifying new revenue opportunities that align with our business objectives. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of progressive experience in the IT industry (Direct experience in Server / Storage / Enterprise / Cloud required), demonstrating a deep understanding of market dynamics, partnership strategies, and business development tactics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive new revenue for Supermicro by partnering with technology companies to identify and close new opportunities.
  • Build partnerships from end to end, including managing contractual requirements, integrating Supermicro technology offerings into the marketplace, executing go-to-market strategies, monitoring opportunities, and reporting on progress.
  • Build, strengthen, and maintain relationships at multiple levels across all partner verticals to drive increased visibility and growth in partnerships.
  • Ensure that our partners' sales, technical, service, and management resources are effectively enabled to make the partnership successful.
  • Drive a joint partner business planning process to define mutual performance objectives, identify joint customer targets, and establish critical achievements.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and document standard processes for co-selling with partners.
  • Build and own the partner-sourced pipeline for all partners.
  • Ensure that training, enablement, and educational sessions are conducted for all partners
  • Maintain reports on partner opportunities, pipeline status, and deals won.

Qualifications:


  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or related roles within the IT industry (Direct experience in Server / Storage / Enterprise / Cloud required), with a proven track record of success.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of IT industry trends, technologies, and competitive landscape.
  • Strategic Thinker: Strong strategic planning and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable business plans.
  • Negotiation Skills: Exceptional negotiation skills with a successful track record of closing complex partnership deals.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus across diverse stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Salary Range

$160,000 - $230,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
