Job Description:
The Quality Control Specialist (QCS) is responsible for performing quality inspections and managing quality of products; ensuring that products meet specific production standards while maintaining high quality work in a high volume environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Accurately inspects finished products to meet production standards before it's shipped to customer.
- Hand insert product after inspection, seal packages and insert in final trays.
- Maintain strong attention to detail in order to accurately prepare needed paperwork in a timely manner.
- Request reprints for product that does not meet company standards.
- Follows directions and instructions of Production Manager.
- Notifies Production Manager of any quality issues, spoilage or reprints that are required.
- Follows all standard operating procedures and instructions relevant to the job, position and department accurately.
- Strong computer skills to navigate Zelis quality control systems for the various machines
- Keep up with the quality control demand in a fast paced environment
- Follows established HIPAA, Compliance & Security policies, department policies, procedures, work instructions and safety and environmental guidelines.
- Creates packing slips and paperwork for shipping vendors
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent GED required
- 1-3 years' experience in a quality control environment preferred
- Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Must have basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel

Physical Factors & Requirements:
- Stand for long periods of time
- Able to lift 50 lbs. or more
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Use standard office equipment
- Operate manual pallet jack
- Must be able to maintain good attendance
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed, significant overtime will be required during busy periods
