Position Overview:

We are seeking a full-time highly skilled and experienced Master Oracle Primavera P6 Scheduler to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project scheduling and planning within the oil and gas industry, specifically using Oracle Primavera P6. As a Master Oracle Primavera P6 Scheduler, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing project schedules, ensuring all projects are delivered on time and within scope. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of construction and project management processes in the oil and gas sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule Development and Maintenance:
  • Create, baseline, update, and manage detailed project schedules using Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Ensure all activities are accurately represented and properly sequenced.
  • Continuously monitor critical path and near-critical path tasks to ensure schedule milestones are maintained.
  • Develop cost-loaded and/or resource-loaded schedules, including labor, equipment, and materials, to optimize resource utilization.
  • Coordination and Communication:
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information, update the schedules on a weekly basis, and identify project requirements.
  • Communicate schedule status, updates, and potential issues to project teams and senior management.
  • Work with estimators to develop construction schedules for proposal submission.
  • Participate in construction handoff meetings to help coordinate the schedule logic between the estimating and operations teams.
  • Monitoring and Progress Tracking:
  • Track and analyze project performance against the schedule.
  • Identify potential delays or risks and work with the project team to implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Perform critical path analysis and update project plans accordingly.
  • Forecasting and Predictive Analysis:
  • Look-Ahead Schedules: Develop look-ahead schedules (e.g., 2-week look-ahead) to provide a detailed view of upcoming activities. Develop short-term schedules to help project teams prepare for immediate tasks and resources.
  • Trend Analysis: Perform trend analysis to identify recurring patterns in schedule variances to anticipate future challenges and implement preventive measures.
  • Completion Forecasting: Forecast the project completion date based on current progress and trends. Analyze if the forecasted completion date deviates from the planned date, if so, providing corrective actions to bring the project back on track.
  • Variance Analysis and Impact Assessment:
  • Schedule Variance Identification: Compare the updated schedule against the baseline to identify any variances in start and finish dates, durations, and resource allocations. Perform analysis to pinpoint which activities are ahead, behind, or on track.
  • Critical Path Re-Evaluation: Reassess the critical path based on the latest schedule updates. Identify any shifts in the critical path that may affect the project's completion date and address these changes proactively.
  • Impact Assessment: Analyze the impact of schedule variances on the overall project timeline, including the potential effects on key milestones, project completion, and resource availability. Determine whether corrective actions are needed to mitigate delays.
  • Risk Management and Mitigation:
  • Identify scheduling risks and constraints proactively.
  • Work with the project team to develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
  • Work with the project manager and project controllers to prepare and present detailed schedule reports, including earned value analysis and other performance metrics.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making.
  • Process Improvement and Compliance:
  • Recommend and implement scheduling process improvements to enhance project delivery and increase overall efficiency.
  • Ensure all scheduling activities comply with company policies & procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Schedule Documentation and Record-Keeping:
  • Audit Trail: Maintain a detailed audit trail of all schedule updates, including the reasons for changes, the date of revisions, and approval records. This ensures accountability and provides a clear history of the project's scheduling process.
  • Documentation of Assumptions and Constraints: Document any assumptions or constraints that were considered during schedule updates. This includes noting any changes in resource availability, weather conditions, or other factors that may have influenced the schedule.
  • Final Schedule Update: At the project's conclusion, provide a final updated schedule that reflects the actual timeline and completion status. This document serves as a historical record of the project and can be used for post-project analysis and lessons learned.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field; or
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project scheduling within the oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years of experience using Primavera P6.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other scheduling tools. Strong knowledge of project management software and methodologies.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction and project management processes in the oil and gas sector, including pipeline and compressor station construction.
  • Certifications: PMP, PSP, or other relevant project management certifications are highly desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
