Job Summary:

As our Purchasing Director, you will be at the helm of all aspects of purchasing of our luxury residential Interior Design Firm through Design Manager software. Also will need experience with daily operations (payroll, invoicing, collections, HR, insurance, office technology, and hiring). You will oversee bookkeeping (accounts receivable and payables, annual state/federal sales and payroll taxes).

Key Responsibilities:

You will provide purchasing services, and oversee and manage the purchasing process through Design Manager purchasing software.

The Purchasing Director is the primary point of contact with our vendors regarding merchandise and handles all product purchasing and logistics, working closely with our Designers to ensure the appropriate items are ordered. Oversees and manages Purchasing Coordinator. You should have experience with daily operations (payroll, invoicing, collections, HR, insurance, office technology, and hiring)-reports to Executive Team.

TRADE AND VENDOR ACCOUNTS
  • Manage Trade accounts
  • Handle Vendor relations and new vendors

DAMAGES & CLAIMS
  • Perform all damage issues and filing claims for initial status report prepared by the Purchasing Manager
  • Coordinate, manage and oversee all damages for follow up status reports prepared by the Purchasing Coordinator
  • Assist the Purchasing Coordinator with damages as necessary

STATUS
  • Prepare Initial status report for all clients
  • Oversees follow-up on status reports for the life of the project done by Purchasing Coordinator

RESELECTIONS
  • Manage reselection process - done by Purchasing Manager or assign Designer to assist for more complex product
  • Ensure reselections happen in a timely manner
  • Record any reselections that happen post-ordering in Asana

PROPOSALS
  • Manage and supervise Purchasing Coordinator's preparation of the proposal

FOLLOW ON PUNCH AFTER INSTALL
  • PRODUCT RELATED ONLY- troubleshooting all issues with the product post-install and ensuring resolution

INSTALL
  • Prepare Design Manager Report
  • Manage quality control of product (Review product quality at install and report as to whether it is a recommended vendor and prepare report as to which product is high quality and/or not)
  • Work with Project Manager on product needs pre, during and post-install

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred.

Experience:

Proven experience as a purchasing manager in the interior design space, preferably supporting a high-end brand. A love and passion for numbers and spreadsheets is preferred.

Skills:

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize financial tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Proficiency in Design Manager a must, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other productivity tools such as Hubspot, Asana, and Slack. Houzz Pro a plus.

Discretion and integrity in handling confidential information and sensitive matters.

Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and fast-paced environments.

Experience in the interior design industry or related field is a must.

Location: Office located in Palm Beach Gardens

Work Hours: 9-5 pm or 8-4pm M-F

Salary Range: 75K - 95k commiserate with experience
