Job Posting: Sr. Plant Engineer

Location: Bridgeton, NJ

Target pay rate: $140K-$170K DOE

Requirement: 5-8 years of experience in engineering or maintenance, preferably in a food manufacturing environment

The ideal candidate for the Sr Plant Engineering role will ensure that the plant operates at peak efficiency by overseeing maintenance engineering activities, managing plant maintenance programs, and solving technical issues. This role requires a high level of proficiency in maintenance engineering and a strong ability to lead and develop the maintenance department.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Capital Project Management: Lead plant capital projects from scope development to completion, ensuring budget adherence.
  • Equipment Analysis: Perform replacement analysis of equipment and provide recommendations to the production manager.
  • Contracting Oversight: Direct outside contracting work, including managing bids and approvals.
  • Operational Efficiency: Recommend projects to improve plant efficiency and manage downtime.
  • Maintenance Programs: Develop and oversee plant maintenance programs to minimize downtime and address technical issues.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop DFA and contract staff, including creating training programs.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop short- and long-term goals, departmental budgets, and cost controls.
  • Materials Coordination: Oversee material needs for maintenance and capital projects, including inventory management and purchasing.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Maintain preventative maintenance programs for facility systems and production machinery.
  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure all plant environmental policies and procedures meet DFA guidelines and regulatory requirements. Perform routine environmental audits and maintain records.
  • Waste Management: Perform wastewater testing, maintain facility waste stream inventories, and implement waste reduction solutions.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Follow DFA good manufacturing practices and corporate regulatory requirements.

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent technical training
  • 5-8 years of experience in engineering or maintenance, preferably in a food manufacturing environment
  • Experience in team or project leadership, environmental compliance, PLC programming, and capital project management
  • Certification or license may be required during employment
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations
  • Knowledge of safety compliance issues
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong critical thinking, analysis, and communication skills
