Equity Staffing Group is looking for a Materials Buyer for one of our clients in Plymouth, MN.
The Materials Buyer position will be responsible for lowering the Cost of Goods through effective supplier negotiations. Responsibilities include researching and selecting optimal products and suppliers, managing materials procurement, and negotiating prices.
Duties Include:
Forecast price trends and their impact on future business.
Conduct research to identify the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality.
Communicate between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers.
Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers.
Negotiate pricing contracts and monitor the quality of service provided.
Skills and Abilities:
Over 2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, with a proven track record of effective negotiation and supplier management
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Expertise in presenting and communicating with vendors.
Strong problem-solving, financial management and analytical skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel used for tracking and analysis.
Four-year degree required in Business or related degree.
