Current Need:

McKesson Medical-Surgical is seeking a Global Purchasing Analyst who will be responsible for purchasing a wide array of existing medical supplies worldwide, assuring their timely delivery, managing cost down initiatives and developing key supplier relationships.


The Global Purchasing Analyst is skilled in both tactical and strategic procurement and consequently has demonstrated ability to look at both the near term needs of buying material and the longer-term strategic objectives of the corporation to drive purchasing decisions.



Hybrid Position: After training is complete, team members will be in the office once a month for leadership meetings. Our ideal candidate will be located within 50 to 60 miles of the Richmond office located at 9954 Mayland Drive. Relocation is not provided for this position.



On Site Training: Training is conducted both remotely and from the office 2 to 3 days a week for the first 6 months.



Position Description:



The selected candidate will be responsible for:


  • Maintaining acceptable inventory levels as well as collecting, evaluating, and reporting data in order to manage inventory. Analyzes inventory records


  • Maintain external service levels to meet required goals


  • Identifying & maintaining relationships with suppliers


  • Building container orders and timing the production and delivery to minimize on hand Days Supply Inventory while ensuring a high level of service.


  • Maintaining accuracy of purchase orders within Vendor Managed Inventory system to clearly communicate availability dates and quantities to internal customers


  • Maintain clear, timely communication with internal stakeholders


  • Resolving invoice discrepancies as required


  • Tracking supplier annual performance metrics


  • Working with Sales, Customer Service, Brand and Sourcing teams to meet business goals





Minimum Requirements:

4+ years of relative experience



Critical Skills:



  • 4+ years of managing inventory


  • Analytical experience within a supply chain environment


  • Knowledge of supply chain and materials management principles


  • 3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced team environment


  • Skilled in ERP system use, preferably JD Edwards E1/E3 and/or Syspro


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail


  • MS Office proficiency including advanced Excel skills,


  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills with ability to translate broader corporate objectives into purchasing decisions


  • Team player mentality with strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and a general sense of urgency


  • Ability to work independently with strong drive to continue learning and growing professionally


  • Maintain a high level of process improvement, with a consistent attitude to improve the systematic ordering across the multiple platforms within the global network





Additional Knowledge & Skills:



  • 3 years purchasing experience preferred - international or long lead-time planning a plus


  • Complex forecasting experience preferred


  • Thorough knowledge of inventory policies, and practices and systems


  • CSCP, CPIM or internationally accredited procurement qualification preferred


  • MS Access proficiency including building basic queries and linking tables





Education:

4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience

Our Base Pay Range for this position



$70,800 - $118,000
