Job Description:

Job Description: As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with the overall financial operations of the company. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.



Key Responsibilities:



  • General Ledger Maintenance:



    • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.

    • Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.

    • Assist in maintaining the chart of accounts.




  • Accounts Payable and Receivable:



    • Process invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring timely and accurate recording.

    • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including reconciling statements and resolving discrepancies.




  • Financial Reporting:



    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

    • Prepare supporting documentation and schedules for financial reports.

    • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management.




  • Month-End and Year-End Close:



    • Participate in the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and accruals.

    • Ensure all financial data is recorded in compliance with GAAP.




  • Audit Support:



    • Provide support for internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and explanations.

    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.




  • Expense Reporting:



    • Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.

    • Reconcile corporate credit card statements and track expenses.




  • Tax Compliance:



    • Assist with the preparation and filing of sales tax, property tax, and other regulatory returns.

    • Support the preparation of tax work papers and coordinate with external tax advisors.




  • Process Improvement:



    • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement best practices.

    • Assist with the implementation of new accounting systems or software as needed.





  • Qualifications:



    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    • 2+ years of experience in accounting or a related role.

    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

    • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.

    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
