Pay Range

$37,800.00-$51,900.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.

Johns Manville, a leading manufacturer and marketer of premium-quality insulation, commercial roofing, and engineered products is searching for a Disc Operator to join the team in Tucson, AZ.

2nd Shift: M-Th: 4:30p-2:30a

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Maintain a safe work environment; complete all safety and other training on schedule.
  • Work closely with EH&S. Make sure OSHA and environmental requirements are being followed throughout the facility.
  • Keep informed of all JSAs on all CNC machinery and be confident you are aware of all changes.
  • Operate CNC Lathes and VMCs, and other machine tools and hand tools safely.
  • Operate lifting equipment, including cranes, hoists and forklifts, safely lifting and moving parts and material.
  • High School degree. Completion of a machinist apprenticeship program or a technical certificate preferred.
  • Experience setting up, editing G-Code programs and running CNC Lathes with Fanuc controls.
  • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office suite of programs. Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
  • Positive manner of performance, team player, good written and verbal communications skills.

Safety:

  • Lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be capable of performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must have to ability to operate various hand tools including pneumatic, electrical, and manual
  • Ability to safely climb stairs and ladders throughout the workday.
  • Ability to complete tasks associated with various hot works. Including the ability to wear necessary PPE to protect worker from such hot work hazards.
  • Ability to wear steel-toe safety shoes for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment and wear hearing protection as required.
  • Ability to work in a dusty environment and wear respiratory protection as required.
  • Capable of using forklifts, cranes

  • Interface with team members on all shifts and other departments. Provide technical assistance to others according to established operating procedures.
  • Willing to work any shift.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-starter having the ability to carry out assignments with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Show initiative in supporting safety plant wide.
  • Computer competency, capable of learning to interface with required databases and programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret complex items in English.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful work environment.
  • Ability to consistently make appropriate decisions with frequent interruptions.

You will work under the genera supervision of the shift supervisor, performing all machining to maximize productivity to maintain safety and quality standards. The Tucson, AZ plant is a full-service manufacturing, and machining operation with high skilled machinists and operators who specialize in high temperature alloys and proprietary parts for Johns Manville.
