Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and modifications on all molds.
Perform machining, polishing, welding, and benching on all molds as required.
Ability to work on Hot Runner Systems, manufacture core pins and inserts as needed.
Knowledgeable with valve gates and their controls.
Ability to wire and set limit switches.
Inspect, evaluate, troubleshoot and resolve issues with molds based on feedback of shop floor performance - visual, quality, cycle or other parameters of the finished parts or molds.
Assist in mold dis-assembly, inspection, cleaning, assembly and storage of molds and other equipment.
Fabricate tools, fixtures, molds, mold details, and other components in support of manufacturing.
Rebuild hydraulic cylinders.
Good knowledge of all areas of machine shop theory and practice.
Ability to set-up and operate all machine shop equipment, including mills, lathes, and surface grinders.
Monitor machine operation and move controls to align and adjust position of work pieces and action of cutting tools.
Perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance on machine shop equipment.
Train and mentor lower-level toolmakers/machinists.
Promote and adhere to all shop safety procedures maintaining a hazard free work environment.
Follow and improve shop processes, including daily maintenance and cleanliness of work area to ensure it is clean and adheres to 5S principles.
Works with blueprints, specifications, and diagrams. Accurately check work with precision instruments.
Assist and communicate with key personnel regarding status of the molds, ensuring molds meet standards and are production ready.
Work alternating weekends for production support.

QUALIFICATIONS
Physically able to perform in an Industrial environment.
Proficient in use of machining equipment: lathes, mills, grinders, Tig welding (steel and aluminum).
CNC lathe and CNC mill experience is a plus.
Must know how to use appropriate precision measuring tools.
Ability to read and understand mold drawings and blueprints.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and written.
Ability to operate overhead crane.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Good attitude, quality and workmanship.
Must be detail oriented.
Self-Starter with a good safety and attendance record.
Must be able to work overtime as required.
Must be able to read, write and speak English.

High School diploma or equivalent

Frequently required to walk, stoop, kneel, or crawl. Employees are frequently exposed to extreme temperatures in the manufacturing environment. Frequently exposed to conditions typically found in a manufacturing plant: noise, dust, heat, and chemicals. PPE to be always worn while inside the plant.
