Financial Aid Specialist at University of Houston - Victoria in Victoria, Texas

Job Description:

Provides financial aid counseling to current and prospective students and parents, processes financial aid applications and disbursements, and maintains financial aid records.

1. Counsels and advises current and prospective students and parents regarding financial aid application procedures, programs, financial aid eligibility, costs, and financial planning.


2. Administers and troubleshoots assigned automated processes for awarding student financial aid.


3. Reviews and processes submitted student financial aid forms.


4. Participates in events designed to assist current and prospective student and parents with completing financial aid applications.


5. Assists students and parents with questions and issues by phone, email, and in person.


6. Interprets and maintains knowledge of current federal, state, and institutional student financial aid policies and procedures.


7. Administers one or more specific financial aid programs or processes.


8. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
