An expanding elevator company is seeking an Elevator Field Operations Modernization Director to join their team in the Myrtle Beach, SC area. The Elevator Field Operations Modernization Director will be responsible for overseeing multiple elevator modernization projects in the area with clients in commercial, industrial, and hospitality sectors in the accomplishment of modernization of elevators. Responsibilities: • Supervise modernization employees, providing direction, training, and communication of policies and procedures. • Responsible for hiring and performance management of modernization employees. • Conduct weekly job visits, including first-day safety checks, and document findings. • Administer safety program, conduct safety audits, and emphasize safety protocols to employees. • Support sales with customer interactions and assist in the estimating process. • Plan, direct, and prioritize elevator modernization, including manpower allocation; utilize project management tools for scheduling. • Use system reports to assess job status, identifying risks and opportunities, and report issues before revenue. • Manage job sites from survey to completion, document project progress, troubleshoot issues, and conduct quality audits. • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, contractors, consultants, and architects. • Review and approve all bids, attend pre-bid meetings and provide technical input on labor and material costs. • Review and approve change orders, purchase orders, turnover authorizations, accounts receivable, and other approvals. • Determine necessary materials for jobs, coordinate subcontracting as needed. • Review and approve vendor invoices and oversee subcontractor schedules and performance.
Requirements: • 10+ years of experience in elevator modernization. (Required) • 3+ years of proven experience managing teams of elevator mechanics (Required) • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems/schematics, safety regulations, and building codes. (Required) • Experience with repair and modernization with elevators including any or all Otis, Schindler, Kone, TKE, MCE, Dover, etc. (Required) • Valid state Mechanics License, NEIEP, CET-S (Required)
