Job Summary


The Sr. Data Governance Manager is responsible for developing and overseeing the organization's data governance framework, ensuring data integrity, quality, and security. This role involves working closely with stakeholders across the organization to establish policies, standards, and processes for data management.



Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Define data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Create and maintain a data governance roadmap and implementation plan.
  • Establish data quality standards and metrics.
  • Monitor data quality and integrity across various data sources.
  • Implement data quality improvement initiatives and remediation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with data-related regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Identify and mitigate data governance risks.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure data governance policies are followed.
  • Collaborate with business units, IT, and other stakeholders to promote data governance initiatives.
  • Conduct training and awareness programs on data governance policies and practices.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for data governance issues and inquiries.
  • Lead and manage a team of data stewards.
  • Define roles and responsibilities for data stewardship across the organization.
  • Support data stewards in managing data assets and ensuring adherence to governance standards.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of data governance tools.
  • Ensure the effective use of technology to support data governance processes.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information management, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience with data quality management, data stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational change.
  • Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies.

Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management skills and experience.
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in data management tools and software.

Optional but preferred
  • Experience with cloud platform integration such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
