Job Description:


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce's client, a well-established commercial real estate firm in the Greater Washington DC Metro area, is seeking a highly-skilled Accounting Manager with a CPA certification and experience in both real estate and management. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of real estate accounting, and the ability to oversee financial operations, ensuring compliance and financial accuracy across the board.

Responsibilities:


  • Financial Management: Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting for the commercial real estate portfolio

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and timely submission

  • Real Estate Transactions: Manage the accounting aspects of property acquisitions, sales, and leases, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the team meets its objectives

  • Compliance & Audits: Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations, including overseeing tax filings, audits, and financial reviews

  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and report on cash flow, ensuring that the company maintains sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs







REQUIREMENTS:



  • CPA certification (required)

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in real estate accounting (commercial preferred)

  • Prior experience managing an accounting team or department

  • Proficiency in real estate management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and accounting systems

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and real estate financial transactions

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving






The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.



We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
