Key Responsibilities:


Tropicana Brands Group is looking for a highly qualified Utilities Maintenance Mechanic to support the Supply Chain team to ensure the company's goals and initiatives are met.


This role will be responsible for working safely and efficiently to maintain the plant utilities equipment. This role works with the Lead/Planner to coordinates the availability of materials, equipment and facilities for efficient and effective maintenance activities. This includes but is not limited to procurement of necessary materials (stock and non-stock), special tools and equipment required for efficient work execution.

Additional Responsibilities:



  • The primary role of the Utilities Mechanic is to work safely and efficiently to maintain the plant utilities equipment.

  • This role works with the Lead/Planner to coordinates the availability of materials, equipment and facilities for efficient and effective maintenance activities. This includes but is not limited to procurement of necessary materials (stock and non-stock), special tools and equipment required for efficient work execution.

  • Ensure the proper documentation of work performed in accordance with the site's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Additional duties may be required as necessary.

  • Communication - Establish communication with department leadership and /or technicians to minimize downtime and maintain constant production levels.

  • Documents and maintains paperwork according to company and regulatory requirements.

  • Communicate equipment issues, needs, status of repair and any delay issues to department leadership.

  • Efficiency - Meet acceptable time standards and efficiencies as established by industry standards and communicated by department leadership.

  • Housekeeping - ALWAYS maintain a safe, clean and productive work environment including 5-S areas.

  • Problem Resolution - Efficiently and effectively identify problems with equipment / systems, determine the root cause and take corrective action.

  • Quality - meet or exceed quality standards on all work that is performed and recognize quality as a key element of customer satisfaction and meeting business goals.

  • Works with planner to provide information for timely, accurate parts or service procurement.

  • Maintain professional relationship and communications with leadership, coworkers, customers, and vendors.

  • Responsible for identifying parts and services required to support repairs.

  • Perform any other reasonable request or task as determined.

  • The Mechanic reports directly to the department Utilities Resource.


Requirements:



  • High School diploma or GED

  • 5 Years of proven industrial maintenance experience or related work.

  • 4 years of proven welding experience for stainless/stainless pipe, stainless/carbon pipe and carbon/carbon pipe. X-Ray certification a plus.

  • Be able to qualify visual welding test for site.

  • Familiar with mechanical alignment tools and applications.

  • Must have proven experience in understanding and troubleshooting mechanical, fluid, and heat systems.

  • Must be able to read and interpret equipment drawings/manuals.

  • RETA CIRO or RETA CRST Preferred.

  • Must be RETA CIRO or RETA CRST certified within six months of bid acceptance.

  • Ability to qualify as HAZMAT Technician at time of employment.

  • Must be familiar with rigging, lift, and hoist systems.

  • Follow all Plant and Departmental Rules.

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours within the scope of union agreement.

  • Must maintain all required training. (Safety, HAZMAT, OSHA, RETA as examples)

  • Must be willing to learn site, refrigeration, compressed air, wastewater, fire safety and environmental systems.

  • Must be willing to make use of vibration analysis and oil analysis tools for machine condition monitoring.

  • Must be willing to learn site mechanical integrity program elements.

  • Learn and understand site PSM processes.

  • Must be able to read and understand P&ID drawings, schematics and equipment diagrams to analyze or troubleshoot Utilities systems.


Physical Requirements:



  • Climb, squat, twist and bend to accomplish necessary repairs.

  • Ability to walk/climb to remote areas of the plant.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.


Purpose:



  • The Bradenton Utilities Department works in a team environment to maintain and operate the critical utilities equipment and infrastructure that supports all plant operations.

  • These include the ammonia refrigeration system, wastewater collection and treatment systems, sanitary lift stations, as well as compressed air, and potable/non-potable water systems.

  • This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting systems to ensure reliability, efficiency and meet all local, state and federal regulations.


Safety:



  • Must adhere to PPE requirements set forth by the department.

  • Ensure all safety rules, procedure, policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are followed.

  • Will stay up to date on all required peak performance safety training.


Pay for this position is $35.91/hr
