Job Description: GDH is hiring a Network Delivery Engineer to work with our client, a full-service IT integrator with specialties in all aspects of today's technology-centric business environments, from enterprise data center infrastructure and platforms to end-user devices. By leveraging strategic partnerships with all major technology manufacturers, complemented with in-house expertise to design, implement, and train on solutions, we serve our clients as a trusted advisor and strategic provider of comprehensive IT solutions that deliver tangible value.

About the position:

The Network & Security Delivery Consultant is an experienced professional with end-to-end knowledge of architecture, engineering, configuration, and implementation of enterprise and commercial-class network and security products. The role is a client-facing member of our Consulting & Service Delivery team, leading the engineering and integration of solutions from OEMs such as Cisco, Fortinet, Arista, and Juniper. This position involves a mix of office and home-based work, in addition to some client-site activities, requiring flexibility in location and hours to successfully deliver projects.

Responsibilities include:
  • Creation and maintenance of project documentation, including:
    • Technical requirements

    • Design diagrams (OSI Layer 1, Layer 2, Layer 3, and general topology)

    • Design Technology Descriptions


  • Installation of OEM equipment, virtual or physical (racking, stacking, cabling, and powering up), along with configuration and integration of solutions.

  • Verification that interoperability matrices are followed during planning and installation, and adherence to best practices as they pertain to specific products from OEM partners.

  • Assistance with clients' change management activities; working knowledge of change management fundamentals (documenting configurations, implementation plans, contingency plans, testing plans, backout plans, etc.) is expected.

  • Training of stakeholders and partners on the features/functionalities of solutions; this can include technical and non-technical stakeholders, so adapting messaging to a given audience is crucial.

  • Collaboration and coordination with internal stakeholders and client partners to guarantee success throughout the entire project lifecycle.

  • Client consultation and guidance, in partnership with our Solutions Architects and Project Managers, will be a core aspect of the role, as well as advocating for future project opportunities.

  • May provide tier-3 technical support to clients, offering guidance and assisting with troubleshooting.

  • Ongoing technical education and certifications to substantiate not only individual proficiency, but also support our partner statuses with key OEMs.

Requirements:
  • 10+ years related experience in IT networking and network security, with a proven history of professional success in architecting, engineering, configuring, and implementing:
    • Wired/Wireless Network Routing, Switching and Load Balancing

    • Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW)

    • Vulnerability & Penetration Testing


  • Referencing disciplines and methodologies that include:
    • ISO 27001 & NIST Frameworks

    • ZTA (Zero Trust Architectures)


  • Self-starter with an ability to work in a team environment, and an aptitude for frequent context switching between multiple customers, projects, and technologies.

  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills with the ability to absorb new technology quickly.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

  • Reasonable proximity within the Kansas City Metropolitan Area, with a willingness and ability to travel to customer locations (primarily in the Midwest) as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in information technology, information systems, engineering, math, physics, or other hard science.

  • Experience across physical, virtual, and cloud (GCP, Azure, and/or AWS) deployments.

  • Current U.S. Passport (as international travel to client sites is a possibility).
