Job Summary:




Serves as the practice leader and advocate for the Trauma Program across the system to accomplish organizational strategic goals and objectives. The system encompasses a Level 1 Adult Trauma Program at Froedtert Hospital as well as a Level 3 program at Froedtert Menomonee Falls. Duties include monitoring compliance with American College of Surgeons Optimal Trauma Care requirements and standards, along with hospital policies and procedures within the constraints of budget, legislature and regulation. Other duties as assigned.





EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:





Minimum of three to five years of clinical trauma nursing experience is required.

Three years of experience in a leadership role is preferred.




EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:




Degree in Nursing (baccalaureate or graduate) is required.

Masters Degree is preferred.




TRAINING DESCRIPTION:




Prior Trauma Program Manager experience at a Level I or II Trauma Center.




SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:




This role coordinates management of the trauma patient across the continuum of care, including planning and implementation of clinical protocols and practice management guidelines, monitoring care of the patient and serving as a resource for clinical practice. Provides intra-facility and regional professional staff development, directs community trauma education and prevention programs. Monitors clinical processes and outcomes related to system quality of care provided; identifies areas for improvement and implements changes. Manages budget for the trauma program. Serves as an internal resource for staff in all departments and for EMS agencies. The manager is involved in research projects; Participates in development of trauma care systems at the community, state, or national level. He/she works collaboratively with the Trauma Medical Director to assure compliance with Level 1 trauma standards.




LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:




Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum or Advanced Trauma Care Nurse course completion (must obtain within six months of hire).
