Quality Assurance Specialist (194)
Hanford, CA

Under the direction of the Manager of Quality and Utilization Management, support Kings View with coordination and implementation of quality management functions, including utilization review, quality assurance, staff development, and continuous quality improvement functions. This includes assessment of quality care activities, chart audits, training and clinical support, and performing related duties as assigned.

How will I contribute
Maintain a fund of knowledge about Specialty Mental Health Services managed care regulations and practices as is necessary to support compliance with managed care procedures and timelines set by the State and Kings County Behavioral Health. Assist with the Kings View Managed Care transition to Kings County Behavioral Health by continuing current managed care functions and relinquishing duties as the County assumes responsibility until all managed care functions are under Kings County Behavioral Health. Collect and assess data for monitoring and reporting quality measures, show trends and to obtain goals in areas identified for improvement. Oversee the Quality Utilization Review Process, review findings and report on trends with recommendations for correction and/or intervention and assist in developing quality standards. Identify training needs and assist with the development and implementation of training related to documentation skills and quality service in accordance with federal, state and county laws and regulations. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidences, related to authorized monitoring and auditing activities. Assist in preparation for External Quality Review Organization and Compliance Audits. Assist and participate in periodic and ongoing quality improvement projects, including but not limited to Consumer Perception Surveys, Service Verification (Program Integrity), 24/7 Access and Performance Improvement Projects. Participate in Utilization Review, Cultural Competency, and Quality Improvement Committee(s) and Quality Improvement work groups. Demonstrate competency in use of Kings Views electronic health record system (Cerner Community Behavioral Health and Millennium) and Microsoft Office components (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.). This includes, but is not limited to the following: Use of Cerner Scheduler Assist in the creation, review and revision of Plans of Care and Assessments Assist in the creation of Progress Notes Effective use of the Clinicians Home Page Follow all Kings View policies and procedures, administrative directives, all relevant county, state and federal regulations and any performance obligations contained in Kings View program contracts with other entities. Familiarity with and adherence to compliance with the code of conduct and the requirements of the compliance program are elements of performance evaluations and conditions of employment

What I bring
Bachelors degree in healthcare or related field and at least 2 years of professional experience in the healthcare field or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the below duties (education may be substituted by experience on a year-for-year basis). Experience in clinical, safety, and/or regulatory areas in the behavioral healthcare industry. Experience in quality control and/or quality assurance within the behavioral industry. Experience in generating business metrics. Experience in KPIs dashboard and data visualization. Class C Driving License Working knowledge of tools, methods and concepts of quality assurance. Knowledge of HIPAA/Privacy Laws and Regulations. Must have great analytical and organizational skills; good communication, writing, and reading skills, and a good working knowledge of administrative procedures as well as various computer applications and programs. Ability to make decisions independently and resolve issues appropriately. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a timely manner and work well under pressure Innovative and strategic thinking self-starter Masters degree in public health, public policy, public administration, social work, or marriage & family therapy preferred with licensure as LMFT, LCSW in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Science Examiners
