Manages the day-to-day operations of large university program or department, which may include the supervision of staff employees, student workers, programs or processes, including management of budgetary, financial, and administrative functions for a department or program.
Job Duties
• Plans and develops procedures for administering a large or complex department or program.
• Manages fi scal activities, including procurement and budget analysis.
• Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluates performance.
• Prepares abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, or operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation.
• Creates and reviews reports of expenditures and activities.
• May administer grants and grant-related related communications, scholarships and other operations.
• Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures.
Additional Job Duties may include:
• Directs the monthly reconciliation of accounts and generates monthly financial and budget reports for departments and centers.
• Processes travel request and reimbursement vouchers
• Will be pcard holder and assist with purchasing for CUIN and PHLS
• Oversees personnel and payroll activities to include reconciliation of payroll records and salary reallocation process.
• Manages monthly checklist to ensure all units are in compliance.
• Trains and provides guidance to departmental staff regarding university and college policies and procedures.
• Leads the finance team in developing operational SOPs to ensure all finance processes are followed with compliance goals
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
The candidate hired for this position will have primary responsibility managing the department of curriculum & instruction (CUIN) and psychological, health & learning sciences (PHLS) - the two largest FTE departments within the college of education.

Bachelors and 1 year experience
Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience. Certification/Licensing: None.
