Job Description:

Administration of human resources activities for Shared Services and aid the VP, Corporate HR in programs to support team members.

- This is a salary exempt position

Performs and maintains data entry in HRIS systems for Shared Services.

Processes information in HRIS systems. Verifies time information with managers and supervisors weekly to ensure proper processing of pay.

Administration of leave of absence process for Shared Services. This includes completing and gathering all necessary paperwork, direct communication with the team member, and maintaining proper updates within our HRIS.

Ownership of new hire onboarding for Shared Services. Processes all new hire paperwork (electronically within our HRIS) to include personal information, tax documents, payroll documents, policy acknowledgements, etc. Responsible for gathering and requesting all necessary information for our IT Department to set up new hire equipment. Communicates directly with the new hire and the hiring manager. Schedules HRIS onboarding with our HRIS Trainer.

Support Shared Services in carrying out HR programs. Assists in learning and training programs, including new hire orientation.

Assists Shared Services corporate offices team members with troubleshooting within our HRIS system. If unable to resolve, submits a ticket to HRIS Help Desk and follows through on resolution.

Conducts all Voluntary Exit Interviews for Shared Services with departing team members. Compiles summary to be shared with VP, Corporate HR.

Supervises small absenteeism Call Center team. Manages their time, attendance, training, and any disciplinary actions that may occur. Is the Administrator for the Call Center application. Works with Data Analytics to ensure proper reporting to leadership.

In the event of a special project, may supervise a small team of temporary team members. Manages their time, attendance, training, and any disciplinary actions that may occur.

Completes all documents for Unemployment Claims for Shared Services. Responds accordingly and timely to applicable state agency on unemployment claims.

Supports Simmons Years of Service program by ensuring awards are requested and delivered timely. Validates invoices before payment.

Manages team members. Directs and supervises team members' work activities and monitors work performance. Collaborates with Talent Acquisition to screen, interview and hire candidates. Administers disciplinary actions and recommends performance improvement actions in collaboration with the VP, Corporate HR. Monitors work performance and recommends compensation decisions based on guidelines. Follows Simmons values to develop and maintain a favorable working relationship with all team members. Promotes a cooperative and harmonious environment to facilitate positive team member morale, productivity, and continued improvement.

Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities: Enters and locates information on a computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Communicates with Customers, Vendors, or Team members via telephone, in person, and/or electronic mail. May present information to small or large groups. Must be able to work in various temperatures. Move about in a manufacturing and/or office environment and surrounding property.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by visiting facility.

Travel: Travels domestically to and from multiple facilities or worksites.

Technical Experience: 5 years' experience in human resources, thorough understanding of Human Resources policies and laws. Prior supervisory experience. Proficient use of Microsoft Suite. Prior experience with our current HRIS.

Industry Experience: Preference for food processing organization.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in business, HR, or related field.
