About the Staff Nurse Role and Obstetrical Clinic- Main Campus




This position is 2-10hr shifts Wed & Thurs 7:15a-5:45p or until last patient leaves



MGH Obstetrical clinic is looking for a dynamic nurse to help us grow as a practice - We are a low and high-risk clinic that has Certified Nurse Midwives and Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians that care for patients. We offer antenatal testing, injections, ultrasounds and in person visits. The Obstetrics Program at Massachusetts General Hospital is dedicated to providing women and babies expert, personalized prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care. We believe every childbearing experience is unique, so we work in partnership with each woman and her family to design a care plan tailored to her particular needs and preferences. In addition, we view education as a cornerstone of our care and promote family involvement throughout the process.


The staff nurse is responsible and accountable for the overall nursing care management of patients. Collaborates with the primary physician, members of the patient care team, support staff and nurse manager to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

• Provides competent, compassionate nursing care based on scientific principles and the use of nursing process and a primary nursing model.


• Identifies, facilitates, and evaluates outcomes of nursing care for an individual patient or group of patients.


• Coordinates involvement of the patient, family, and health team members in patient care, including patient/family teaching.


• Performs duties associated with iron infusions- including IV placement.


• Participates in orientation of new permanent and temporary staff members.


• Participates in daily operational activities necessary for safe patient/staff environment.

Qualifications

For a Staff Nurse:




Skills and Experience

• OB/GYN experience preferred.


• New grads with a passion for women's health will be considered.

Education/Degree

• BSN required.

Licensure, Certifications, or Registration

• Current Massachusetts licensure as a registered nurse.
