Position Summary: Material Planner is a critical position in Pacon maintaining its competitive position and customer relationships. The Material Planner's responsibilities include determining material specifications, creating and maintaining inventory schedules, coordinating with internal departments, and managing external stakeholder relations. There will be daily interfacing with our customers and integrating their needs into our production plans. We offer competitive pay commensurate with experience.
A successful Material Planner should be able to ensure the appropriate supply of cost-efficient and high-quality materials required to maintain steady production and product delivery.
Material Planner Responsibilities:
Coordinate with operations, engineering, purchasing and quality to attain production goals.
Offer and track promised customer ship dates.
Resolve capacity issues by prioritized scheduling and suggestions.
Update production tracking and production reporting.
Enter production transactions and purchase orders in SAP and Sage.
Review, interpret, and update bills of material in SAP and Sage.
Analyze changing material demand patterns.
Maintain raw material inventories, including safety stocks, ensuring production is not interrupted.
Interface with vendors and customers.
Analyze SAP generated forecasts on reasonableness and accuracy.
Ensure new product launches, packaging changes, and other BOM changes comply with change management procedures.
Process customer order enquiries, schedule changes and cancellations.
Determine, research and correct material inventory discrepancies in SAP and Sage.
Material Planner Requirements:
High school diploma/GED required.
3-5 years experience as a Material Planner
Degree in business, logistics, inventory management, or a related field preferred.
Experience or internship in material planning, inventory management, purchasing, or a related position preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
SAP experience with an emphasis on production transactions
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically EXCEL and material management systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
