Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, with hands-on experience in month-end close, budgeting, and financial reporting. This role will be instrumental in ensuring accurate cost analysis and financial compliance within a manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to GAAP and company-specific reporting requirements.
• Prepare and post month-end journal entries, including accruals, utilities, and reclassifications.
• Monitor and support the processing of Purchase Orders, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Analyze Greenville-related expenses and generate financial reports for stakeholders.

Manufacturing Cost Management:

• Project monthly cash payments by evaluating PO volumes and payment terms.
• Maintain and review standard costs for the Greenville facility, analyzing variances between actual and expected costs.
• Support cost control initiatives and waste reduction efforts within the manufacturing process.
• Conduct variance analysis related to pricing, materials, and labor.

Inventory Management:

• Manage inventory adjustments and ensure accurate posting of physical counts.
• Calculate and report fully loaded costs for each SKU, including material and item charges.
• Prepare monthly inventory valuation entries and conduct periodic inventory audits.

Fixed Assets:

• Assist in tracking and managing CAPEX projects.
• Support the activation of CAPEX and confirm accurate depreciation entries.

Tax & Compliance:

• Assist with Sales and Use Tax submissions and other incentive programs.
• Support audits conducted by the South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR).
• File end-of-year tax forms and surveys.
