ANTICIPATED START DATE: Three to six weeks after candidate identification.

ANTICIPATED END DATE: 1/31/2025

TRAVEL: As required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position


ASRT, Inc. provides scientific, information management, management consulting, bioinformatics, and administrative program support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other Federal and private sector clients. The successful candidate will be assigned to the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID), Division of Foodborne, Waterborne, and Environmental Diseases (DFWED), Office of Director (OD), at the CDC, 1600 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA, to implement a modernized PulseNet solution.


SCOPE OF WORK
The Full Stack Developer will provide technical and intellectual support to design, develop, and implement a modernized PulseNet solution using an open-source, scalable architecture approach that is most aligned with CDC's data modernization initiative future vision of an open and connected public health genomics network and supports the development of reusable platforms and systems that can be applied and utilized beyond a single program.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and develop solutions to complex application problems, system administration issues, or network concerns. Perform systems management and integration functions:

  • Perform and support Azure Cloud Architecture analysis and configuration
  • Perform support for Cloud Networking, security, CI/CD, automation, and application migration and modernization configuration.
  • Perform Full stack development with React, Typescript, C#, .NET Core, Azure Functions, and or Mongo/Cosmos DB in cloud specified Cloud Environments.
  • Perform system design studies consistent with CDC standards and industry best practices.
  • Perform conceptual design reviews in addition to the EPLC reviews to ensure the requirements analysis, development, and testing of the solution will achieve its stated goals and objectives and meet its negotiated levels of service.
  • Perform risk analysis and assessment of the architecture and develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for architecture development and management.
  • Develop both current state (as is) and future state (to be) business models for PulseNet business processes if needed.
  • Perform integration requirements analysis, design, implementation, and documentation of the application architecture.
Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a field related to the requirements of the position.

Required:

  • 2-3 years experience designing, building, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based (Microsoft Azure preferred), including security, scalability, performance, availability, monitoring, and maintainability.
  • Ability to work on new modernized development projects performing duties of a full stack developer with frontends not limited to React, Typescript, C#, .NET Core, Azure Functions, and or Mongo/Cosmos DB in cloud-specified Cloud Environments.
  • Organizational skills demonstrating high attention to detail and the ability to organize multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work independently and yet maintain the flexibility to respond to requests for support of ongoing projects.

Desirable:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced and highly interdisciplinary environment.
  • Comfortable working in Azure Environment taking advantage of Azure function services.

Language Skills:

  • The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
