Position Title: Access Assistant II (Temporary, Part-Time, up to 19.5 hours per week)
Department: West Campus - Access & Disability Resources
Rate of Pay: $14.85 - 15.35/hour

Position Summary:
The Access Assistant II provides instructional access across learning environments for a student with a disability. Duties may include support across academic settings, to include manipulation of learning materials, providing aid in clinical settings, offering support at the request of the accommodated student, or upon the request of the instructor or clinical supervisor. Assignment to multiple campuses with travel may be required.
This position may require working occasional evenings and weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Production of accessible materials including notes
Description of overhead screens, videos and demonstrations;
Read/scribe exams and in class written assignments, using language and STEM vocabulary and symbols
Assistance with library research; computer access
Assistance with classroom work (physical academic tasks)
Assist with object manipulation (Ex: moving items, performing step by-step directions for experiments)
Manipulating equipment and materials including textbooks or communication boards as needed
Verbally describe graphics or pictures used in the classroom
Transcribing notes
Facilitate computer access for students who cannot operate a mouse
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) and
Experience using computers, and navigating softwares
A 12th grade reading level or completion of REA 112 or 2 successful semesters of college coursework. 200 level coursework in STEM or foreign languages
