Job Details:
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for supervising the operations of a specific hatchery by monitoring the day-to-day activities as well as formulating strategies for future improvement. This includes completing the chick delivery sheets as well as flock pull sheets and mortality charts keeping logs on each truck consisting of miles and hours worked by each driver and ensuring movement of chicks to farms according to shipment schedule. Other responsibilities include monitoring the incubation and hatchery equipment as well as the environmental control equipment overseeing chick deliver and pick-up and supervising personnel on a daily basis. Other duties include grading fleets of eggs from hen farms preparing vaccines to be given to the chickens and performing other responsibilities as the need arises. Any other duties as assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Requires education beyond high school including special training vocational school and or college courses.
Experience: 2 years experience.
Computer Skills: Basic Computer skills.
Travel: 1 - 2 per year.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel in a single department or work unit who perform similar and or interrelated tasks and activities.
