Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a 1st Shift QA COA Coordinator

Position type: Full Time Permanent

Location: Skokie, IL

Pay Range: $17/HR - $18/HR



The QA Tech-COA Coordinator is responsible for insuring that micro samples are tested per COA master log and that tested products meet microbiological specifications prior to shipping to customers. This is to insure that the company meets the food safety objective of delivering safe products that post no microbiological risks to consumers.



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible to report any food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Micro Samples:
    • Daily review of the QA COA logs for samples turned in by Production

    • Prepare product samples for lab testing

    • Fill out Sample Submission Form Request (SARF) per COA master log

    • Communicate issues in regards to samples to QA Supervisor and Production management group - Examples: insufficient samples, incorrect code date/best by date, incorrect label

  • Prepare Swab Samples for lab testing, fill out Sample Submission Form Request (SARF) as required
  • Package product samples and swabs for lab shipment and insure they are ready for shipment by scheduled pick up time
  • Perform all quality physical tests for finished goods:
    • Count per pound, dimension measurements, defect percentage, doubles percentage

    • And any other requirements per COA master log

  • Lab Reports:
    • Review micro lab reports daily and insure that all results are within specifications

    • Report out of spec product results to Director of quality and Technical Services/QA supervisor

    • Report out of spec results for swabs to Director of quality and Technical Services, QA supervisor, Sanitation and Production management, Request necessary re-tests on products from the lab

    • Send additional samples for product re-testing when necessary

    • Save lab reports daily by item/lot in the Contract Micro Lab file

  • Generate Certificate of Analysis from the lab reports, Insure COA workbooks are kept up to date
  • Send COA to the shipping department in a timely manner



  • Communicate COA issues to shipping department and customer service (and Planning department when necessary) - Examples: micro results pending causing delay in shipping, no micro results available on file
  • Respond to customers on COA requests in a timely manner
  • Send out COA to customers for products shipped with micro waiver (early releases)
  • Update the QA swab log books daily with results for clean equipment swabs and pathogen swabs
  • Send out required pre-shipment samples to customers
  • Collect water samples for micro testing
  • Organize and maintain micro retain samples
  • Conduct QA receiving checks on bulk liquids
  • Conduct any other functions as required by the QA department
    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
    • Minimum high school diploma - college a plus

    • Basic math

    • Good organization and time management skills

    • Attention to details

    • Good communication skills (written and oral)

    Pay Range*: $17/HR - $18/HR

    *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
