RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has an enterprise client in Umatilla, OR that is seeking a Data Center Technician I.

Summary:
This person is a primary resolver for their support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving most complex hardware infrastructure issues. You will create and maintain documentation on technologies you support and are able to effectively pass down knowledge of these technologies to junior staff. You have basic to intermediate system administration skills and, where applicable, are able to take on remote system administration tasks working in a virtual team. You have the ability to automate tasks with scripts when necessary. The Data Center Technician will work autonomously to resolve most support issues. You are able to execute small projects on your own, and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects. You act as the initial escalation point for junior technicians. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. The Data Center Technician knows how to innovate and make decisions on their own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved. This will be a specific project for HDD replacements.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree (preferred, but not required) server plus or a plus - level of understanding


• Experience with computer hardware


• Knowledge of differences between Hard drives and solid state drives


• Familiarity of common network components and proper handling, such as fiber


• General hardware experience or knowledge


• KPI: Completion of hardware - uninstall and reinstall

Preferred Skills:

• Familiar with computer hardware


• Able to identify specific media - pull out/change clads that they are in and put into diff hosts


• Hard drive handling

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
