Kforce has a client in Chicago, IL that is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join a GenAI team within Digital Technology Practice.
Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for creating and managing comprehensive documentation for our cutting-edge Generative AI projects and applications. You will work closely with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to produce clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation that supports the development, deployment, and use of our AI technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation for Generative AI projects, including user guides, API documentation, technical specifications, and system architecture descriptions
Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to gather information, understand complex technical concepts, and ensure accurate representation of AI systems and processes
Create clear and concise documentation that effectively communicates technical details to a range of audiences, including developers, data scientists, and non-technical stakeholders
Manage the documentation lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, and updating content; Ensure that all documentation is current, accurate, and aligned with project requirements and changes
Design and implement documentation standards and best practices; Ensure consistency in style, terminology, and formatting across all technical documents
Assist in creating training materials and onboarding guides for new users and team members; Develop educational content that helps users understand and leverage AI technologies effectively
Work with the UX/UI team to ensure that documentation is integrated seamlessly into product interfaces and user experiences, providing helpful in-app guidance and support
Conduct usability testing of documentation to gather feedback and make improvements; Continuously enhance documentation based on user feedback and evolving project needs
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; A Master's degree or advanced certifications in technical writing are a plus
5+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably with a focus on AI or technology-related projects; Experience with Generative AI technologies and applications is highly desirable
Experience with creating and managing documentation for APIs, software systems, and technical processes
Strong understanding of technical concepts related to AI, machine learning, and data science; Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly documentation
Proficiency in documentation tools such as Markdown, Confluence, or similar; Experience with version control systems like Git is a plus
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills; Ability to produce high-quality documentation that is accurate, clear, and consistent
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, data scientists, and product managers
Attention to detail with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry experience in aviation or transportation, particularly with AI technologies applied to these fields
Knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices as they relate to documentation and content management
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
