POSITION PURPOSE

The Project Coordinator oversees the scheduling, staging, tracking, and reporting of the Division's daily activity and coordinates this activity with customers and Division employees. This position assists with getting work crews, equipment, and materials to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications or needs. The Project Coordinator also completes several administrative tasks for the Division.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Employee shall perform all duties and responsibilities with Sunland's Core Values at the forefront.
  • Must be an advocate of safety and follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Partners extensively with the Production Scheduler to issue PO's and order services with subcontractors and rental companies.
  • Orders, calls off, and coordinates down time on rental equipment with rental vendors.
  • Performs daily audits on Foreman's Field Logs to ensure rental equipment is appropriately job costed.
  • Audits, codes, and approves rental vendor invoices.
  • Disputes and resolves incorrect invoices with rental vendors.
  • Works with the Concrete Superintendent to order concrete materials and subcontractors for upcoming jobs.
  • Maintains and organizes the Project Managers plan room.
  • Functions as needed as a backup for the New Construction scheduler.
  • Creates miscellaneous reports as required by management.
  • May perform basic administrative and clerical functions, which may include filing, copying, binding reports, simple typing, etc.

Safety


  • This position is considered a safety-sensitive position and is subject to the company's drug and alcohol policy, as well as all OHSA regulations.
  • All employees must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Serves as a safety ambassador by complying with federal, state, and local laws, as well as Company safety policy, enforces safe work practices, and proactively identifies and remedies worksite hazards.

Physical Demands and Work Environment


  • This position operates at professional construction sites and in professional office environments, requiring the uses of standard office equipment, the ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone, ability to read printed materials, signs, computer screens and directions, stamina to maintain attention to details despite interruptions, ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds and reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around or otherwise position one's self around the required work and safety requirements to navigating and perform activities on various construction sites in a safe manner.
  • Will be required to work on project sites and operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, equipment, and other tools within local, state and federal safety guidelines.
  • Will be required to work outside, frequently for long periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • While working, the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work


  • This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime may be required as job duties demand.

Travel


  • Minimal travel required with advanced notice.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Work Experience


  • High School Diploma or GED required, Four (4) year degree a plus.
  • One (1) to three (3) years industry, administrative, and/or dispatcher experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Must possess strong organizational and technical skills necessary to effectively perform within a highly complex and detailed work area.
  • An extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel, is required.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Must be willing to work overtime to achieve project deadlines.
  • Occasionally works in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold conditions.
  • Must be able to lift, up to 20lbs and perform some physical tasks including but not limited to walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pointing, grasping, lifting, and carrying.
  • Must be fluent in English, i.e., must be able to speak, read and write English.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations


  • Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check is required.
