Imaging Equipment Engineer 3

UHealth/SoLé Mia has an exciting opportunity for a full time Imaging Equipment Engineer 3 (H) with a hire date of December, 2024. Be part of the UHealth Difference.


The Imaging Equipment Engineer 3 (H) leads the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repairs, calibration, and verification of the performance of a broad range of medical imaging equipment including, but not limited to, general radiographic rooms, portables, mammography, ultrasound, bone density, and supporting equipment. The Imaging Equipment Engineer 3 (H) demonstrates knowledge and trains staff on the many classes of clinical equipment and performs complex maintenance on equipment outside these specialty areas. The incumbent ensures regulatory compliance, oversees inventory management, and advises UHealth personnel on technical matters concerning specialty equipment as well as lower-level engineers, ensuring the highest levels of equipment performance and regulatory compliance.




  • Address and resolves challenging and critical technical issues with imaging equipment. Conducts performance assurance (PA) inspections, scheduled maintenance, and operation verification procedures (OVP) on complex medical imaging equipment.


  • Informs supervisors of the status of repairs, scheduled inspections, unusual equipment situations, and any customer concerns.


  • Partners with the activities of subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians to ensure proper service delivery.


  • Stays abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends. Displays Clinical Engineering expertise through ongoing training and education of staff and other personnel.


  • Ensures the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database, including inventory, performance assurance (PA) schedules, nomenclature, and service history.


  • Adheres to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP), including all regulatory agency compliances and other applicable policies and procedures.


  • Partners with Medical Physicists on accurate and aligned radiation outputs to ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety.


  • Serves and advises on Service Operations Special Projects as assigned.


  • Oversees equipment status and functionality and discusses status with partnering clinicians.


  • Conducts periodic inspections of current inventory status and maintain common failure parts inventory to ensure equipment uptime.


  • Ensures all service and documentation is complete, timely, and accurate.


  • Verifies the completion of security analysis for new customer equipment.


  • Oversees inventory management for imaging equipment parts and supplies. Maintains detailed records and performs Incoming Inspections (II) to maintain a complete and accurate inventory of medical devices, including trial and evaluation, rental, and loaner equipment, in addition to permanently assigned equipment inventory.


  • Preserves the equipment database's accuracy and integrity, including inventory, performance assurance (PA) schedules, nomenclature, and service history.


  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS





  • Associate's degree in relevant field


  • Certification in relevant specialty or field


  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.


  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.


  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.


  • Valid driver's license


  • Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).


  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
