POSITION SUMMARY



Leads select company marketing initiatives, including enterprise-level strategies focused on building brand awareness, supporting sales, strengthening client advocacy and engaging associates. Develops and directs strategic marketing plans for business unit designed to propel annual business plans and help achieve sales goals. Serves on business unit leadership team and manages marketing pursuit team, directing workflow and engaging corporate marketing experts when needed. Manages marketing team members to help achieve corporate and market specific goals.



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES



Market Planning


  • Leads development of business unit marketing program in collaboration with business unit and other leaders to establish marketing goals and tactics that support revenue growth and market share objectives.


  • Works with business unit and operations leaders to develop strategic, vertical and geographic marketing strategies that roll up to the overall marketing program and to facilitate the development of thought leaders within markets sectors. Guides and monitors plans, adjusting as necessary to achieve annual KPIs (key performance indicators).


  • Directs the business unit marketing planning and execution process, ensuring the creation and implementation of integrated marketing strategies and tactics to help drive expansion and growth.


  • Understands market trends, competitive positioning, and strategic direction of the business unit and company, exhibiting business acumen.


  • Manages the implementation of programs, campaigns, and tactics that lead to the achievement of marketing and sales objectives.


  • Recommends the requisite resources such as finances, people, technology, and marketing information needed to successfully implement marketing strategies.




Brand Strategy


  • Works with Chief Marketing Officer and company leaders to develop corporate branding initiatives based on client needs, market data and growth goals, serving as an advocate and steward of the brand.


  • Ensures vertical and geographic marketing strategies roll up to the corporate brand strategy and help drive business success.


  • Communicates brand strategy within the company and helps ensure alignment across the organization.




Thought Leadership Positioning


  • Guides team to develop and implement activities to position the company as an industry leader and subject matter experts as thought leaders, including planning speaking engagements, thought leadership content and campaigns, articles, videos and more.


  • Oversees the development of plans for tradeshow, event and sponsorship opportunities in key vertical markets, guiding the team and aiding with strategies and tactics when necessary.


  • Conceives and helps execute integrated marketing strategies to elevate the brand, company and subject matter experts with target audiences, incorporating multichannel strategies and tailored content.


  • Engages with the Customer Experience Specialist to identify customer needs and develop marketing solutions that meet customer demands.




Proposal and Interview Preparation


  • Manages and participates in the strategy and process for creating proposal responses by directing workflow among direct reports and other marketing team members, including self as appropriate.




  • Works with Operations and Marketing teams to ensure timeliness, professionalism, differentiation, and effective communication of proposals and interviews; ensures quality control on all responses and presentations, and continuously looks for ways to improve the final product.


  • Seeks ways to make McCownGordon proposals and interviews stand out from the competition using creative solutions to deliver messaging and content that addresses each client's goals and supplies value-added solutions.


  • Works with Talent Development, Business Development and Operations to plan and implement presentation skills/interview preparation training, customized to The McCownGordon Way.




Research and Measurement


  • Works closely with Chief Marketing Officer and the marketing team to track and measure the success of marketing initiatives, programs, campaigns and pursuits.


  • Researches market trends and collaborates with marketing team and company leaders to find new opportunities for business growth.


  • Analyzes metrics and coaches marketing team members to hone, refine and enhance marketing initiatives to achieve ever-better results.




Budget Forecasting


  • Assists with preparation of the annual marketing forecast by working with the marketing team and business unit/market leaders to define annual business unit budgets that roll up to the overall marketing budget.


  • Monitors and refines forecast during the year, as needed, to stay on track.




Team Leadership


  • Hires, develops, mentors, and leads marketing team members.


  • Communicates regularly with associates about expectations, goals, and performance, including Career Conversations and regular feedback throughout the year.





MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements before going into job)




  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.


  • 10+ years of experience of Marketing, with 3+ years in a management role; experience in Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC) experience preferred.


  • Proven track record of training, leading and mentoring associates.


  • Proven ability to think strategically and execute plans.







WORKING CONDITIONS



The position requires work in an office environment and attendance at events outside of the office, including some evenings and weekends.
