JCSI, a recruiting consulting company, is partnering with Viscofan, a global leader in the food industry, to help them find a highly skilled Senior Buyer / Procurement Specialist to join their team in Montgomery, AL. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring strong vendor relationships while supporting Viscofan's supply chain strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing & Procurement: Source materials, goods, and services in line with company strategies.
Inventory Management: Conduct scheduled inventory counts and coordinate with managers to maintain stock levels.
Vendor Evaluation: Assess vendors based on pricing, reliability, and transaction history.
Negotiation: Work with vendors to secure discounts and cost-saving opportunities.
Contract Management: Ensure accuracy of purchasing documents and maintain long-term vendor agreements.
Data Maintenance: Track pricing histories and maintain detailed vendor records.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Support logistics operations and work with internal teams.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing or a related field.
Skills:
Strong negotiation and decision-making skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Proficient in PowerPoint and project management tools
Languages: Fluency in both English and Spanish (required)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds when needed.
Must be able to access all areas of the facility to assess purchasing needs.
Occasional travel may be required.
