Job Description:

As Manufacturing Manager, you will plan, direct and coordinate manufacturing activities. You will lead a team of mechanical, electrical, validation and shipping/receiving employees and be responsible for departmental performance, productivity and efficiency. Success in this role requires a strong strategic and analytical orientation coupled with exceptional communication skills and a collaborative management style. We are looking for someone with direct experience building custom machinery.
  • Schedule, delegate and balance project resource allocation across manufacturing teams ensuring optimal resource utilization, and on time project completion
  • Effective communication of project status with project management and business leadership
  • Handle personnel matters including hiring, retention, development, performance, scheduling and salary reviews
  • Responsible for immediate and secondary team member's performance, workload, adherence to budget, timeline, and quality
  • Lead and mentor direct reports and develop, manage, and execute training plans for team members as well as support department continuous improvement initiatives
  • Actively participate in manufacturing department staff meetings, discussions, and initiatives as well as organize and lead recurring manufacturing status report meetings
  • Establish effective manufacturing outsource strategies
  • Participate in ISO training and audits
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized working environment

Requirements

  • 7+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, specifically with electrical and mechanical build technicians
  • Experience with custom machinery and test systems a must
  • Experience in project and departmental budgeting
  • Experience in project performance evaluation, reporting and performance to budget
  • Proven record of success optimizing manufacturing and best practice implementation
  • Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach and background
  • Understanding of manufacturing quality standards, health and safety regulations
  • Experience reporting on key manufacturing metrics
  • Outstanding communication skills - written and verbal
  • Well versed with MS Office specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Project
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities and in compliance with ITAR, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer and not require sponsorship for an employment visa now or in the future
